What's Happening

Meet Steve Moss supporter Forest Gray

Greetings,

My name is Forest Gray, and I am the President of Speakeasy Ales & Lagers, San Francisco's second largest brewery operating for nearly 14 years in District 10. Please join me in an open house/fundraiser for Steve Moss, my candidate for Supervisor in District 10, at Speakeasy on Tuesday evening, October 26th from 6-8pm.

Though many folks in the City (including myself) appreciate offering as many services as we can afford, there many times is a clear disconnect in SF city government between what we want to do and what we can afford, as well as what the priorities should be. We need a supervisor representing District 10 that is progressive with social ideas, yet is grounded in reality with regard both sides of the ledger. We need someone who understands that it requires revenue to pay for the programs we want as a city. We need a person who can intelligently discuss issues with others to get the job done. I believe Steve Moss is clearly the right choice for District 10 Supervisor. I personally have spent far too much time at City Hall engaging the process and have been profoundly disappointed by the lack of relevant experience, thoughtfulness and reasoning by several members of the Board and it is critical that we get Steve in there to provide some additional "real-world" insight to the process.

Steve is not your typical politician. Running for District 10 Supervisor is his first foray into electoral politics. He's not interested in leveraging one political job for another. He's not part of a political machine. He doesn't represent "downtown interests." He doesn't owe people favors. He's independent and smart: independent enough to start his own small business; independent enough to purchase and grow another small business; and independent enough to make decisions based on facts, not political pressure. He is smart enough to be a Fulbright Scholar; smart enough to be sent to Niger by the U.S. Treasury Department to establish effective public financing banking practices; and smart enough to understand the complex issues facing District 10 and San Francisco.

If you have not had an opportunity to meet Steve, please come on over and say "hi." If you know Steve but want an opportunity to talk more about the issues facing District 10 and the City, come on over. And, if you've done all of the above but just haven't mailed in a check supporting Steve, you're certainly welcome to donate. Please RSVP if you plan on attending on October 26th.

I look forward to seeing you at Speakeasy on Tuesday evening, October 26th from 6-8pm.
